The Lord has placed a personal light in every one of us. This light are your GIFTS. These special gifts are to be used to show and guide the world to the one and only true God. However, before we become the LIGHT, we have to understand, “For we walk by faith not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7) We have to be willing to follow wherever the Lord leads and listen.
Every person is not ready to see or accept your gift. Some people will be jealous of you and will make you feel embarrassed about your special gift. This can cause your light to go dim. But if you trust and follow, He will lead and show you the path to whom is ready to see your light. When you are being led by God, do not be afraid because you don’t know what lies ahead--Listen to the soft voice telling you where to go and to who shall see your light.
While you are walking by faith the Lord will lead you to a high mountain; He is separating you from the world. This separation is for you to build your relationship and experience with Him. These acts are turning your light on. As said before, some people will dim your light. However, by being lead up the mountain to build your relationship, you are able to come back and recharge your light. Once your light is recharged, He will lead you back down the mountain to walk amongst the world to shine your light bright.
Matthew 5:14 says “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” As Uth4Christ and NFCOG members, we are the city that sits on the mountain and it is shining bright because of God. We are the lighthouse. A lighthouse's purpose is to navigate and warn of dangerous areas. The Lord has us shining bright to help guide people who don’t know and those that may be ready to climb the mountain, so they too can build their relationship and light with God.
At the beginning, I said your light is your gift. Gift means - Guide Into Faith and Truth. John 8:12 says, “Then spake Jesus again unto them saying. I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” When we walk with Him, we are guided into our relationship with Him and we are shown Truth. God gave us these special gifts for a reason. The should not go to waste. We are able to minister and build His kingdom with these special gifts. Examples of gifst are cooking, dancing, singing, playing an instrument, drawing, photography, directing, designing, teaching, etc. With these gifts you are able to shine your light under God. However, these aren’t the only gifts He gave us. We have others too. They are talking: able spread his gospel; Listening: able to be a listening ear to people that are hurt; Kindness: able to show kindness to a person in need; Gentleness: able to be patient with people who are going through.
All these gifts are your light from God. Remember to be able to be yourself under the light of God, you have to these things.
Walk by faith not by sight.
Let God lead you.
Build your relationship with Him.
Be guided to where and to whom your light shall be shined.
